a rearrangement

Hello, hello, hello.

Happy new year and all that business!  I thought I'd share my most recent rearrangement.  I think this may be the one.  I realized something this last time too.  It takes me about four times.  I have to rearrange about four times before I really love it.  That's right.  The pictures below represent the fourth time it's been arranged.  I'm pretty proud of myself.  Are you seeing the size of that couch? Ian loves it; says it's like magic.  He comes home from work to a transformed house with little ol' me standing in the middle of it.  These moves are not exactly minor.  I'm glad he only sees the end result however.  It makes me feel like I have super powers or something when I think of it from his perspective.  But the reality is...so much more funny.  I really struggle.  I use all of my might.  I move things in an uncoordinated, messy fashion.  Especially with that rug.  It is SO hard to try to move that couch perfectly on that rug without bunching it up.  In fact, it is currently bunched up under one of the legs but it's not visible.  Which represents me throwing my hands up at that point and stuffing it under until you couldn't see it anymore.  I should probably fix that sometime.  I typically get hurt, or scraped up, or smash my toes.  But it's always worth it and I love it somehow.  I would totally do it as a profession, but I dont know if anyone wants to pay me to arrange their home four times before it's good.

I know everyone says this but the pictures really don't do this place justice.  This last rearranging session has caused me to fall in love with this apartment all over again.   That might also have to do with rent being cheaper too though.  (We're to become the managers of this place next week which means that our rent will go down.  So awesome.  Totally a fair trade.)  But even if the cheaper rent has softened my perspective somewhat-- I'm still falling for it again.  It feels so much more open and welcoming.  It's comfortable.  It's light.  It's charming.  I just love it!  And when else am I going to live in a place built during the civil war? Imagine if these walls could speak.  It's a lovely thought.

All right, I'll hush up now.  Behold:

Love this quote by Daniel Boone.  And I think I'm beginning to agree with him.

Heaven must be a Kentucky kind of place.
