This darling friend of mine has joined us in little ol' Kentucky for a visit.  I will be posting about our adventures, so sit tight.  It's been fun, folks.  It's been fun.

farewell john

We had a marvelous weekend surrounded by friends and family.  All gathered together to say a final goodbye to our Johnny boy, leaving for Arizona.

Then we gathered around the security to wave goodbye.  At which the end of "So long, farewell..." promptly broke out in song with the final three goodbye's sung in a very dramatic, operatic voice by all our family.  Embarrassing Johnny just enough to be pleased to get on the plane, I think.  The employees at security were extremely amused.  Thank goodness we were at sweet little Huntington airport and not Louisville... where I'm sure they would have escorted us from the premises.

We're so proud of you John.  And we will miss you terribly.  Who will we call now with all our technical issues?

I've taken up knitting.  It'll probably look, uh...very nice once it's finished.  I'm a little nervous about it.  José brought up the blueprints for a new ranch house he's building.  I have this strange feeling that the blueprints and my knitting instructions got switched.  I may be knitting a ranch house!
